Frequently Asked Questions
Does the soft credit pull affect my customer's credit score?
No. It's a soft inquiry through Equifax Canada, which does not affect the customer's credit score. This is disclosed explicitly in the consent step before any pull happens.
How long does the intake flow take?
About two minutes: driver's license scan, pay stub upload, a selfie for liveness verification, then consent - each step takes seconds on a phone.
What if the camera can't get a clean scan of the license?
There's a manual-entry fallback right on the license step - the customer can type their details in instead of relying on the camera, so a glare or a damaged license doesn't dead-end the flow.
Which credit bureau do you use?
Equifax Canada, for soft-pull prequalification.
Which dealer CRMs do you integrate with?
DealerTrack Canada (DealTransfer) and PBS Systems, with more integrations planned.
Is Deal Intake a lender?
No. Deal Intake is a workflow and decisioning-support tool, not a lender or credit bureau. The pre-approval estimate is informational - actual lending decisions rest with the dealership and its lenders.
Where is customer data stored?
In AWS's Canada (Central) region. Uploaded documents (license photos, pay stubs) are automatically deleted 7 days after upload; sensitive fields are encrypted at rest.
How does the dealer team log in?
Email and password, plus a mandatory authenticator-app code (TOTP) - not SMS, since SMS one-time codes are more vulnerable to interception. See the Security page for more.
